October 3–5 · Brooklyn Navy Yard

the Video Vixen Exhibit

A 3-day immersive fashion + culture installation honoring the women who defined multiple eras in hip hop & R&B.

Video Vixens weren’t background extras. They were *and still are* cultural icons.

The Video Vixen Exhibit is a three-day celebration of the women who shaped hip hop, fashion, and culture. From the late 90s to the 2010s, video vixens redefined beauty, inspired style, and gave life to the music videos that defined an era.

This fall, step into an immersive exhibit curated by costume designer Biancha Jones, featuring archival magazines, gallery walls, iconic recreated looks, and a celebration of legacy.

Their impact still lives in every runway show, every IG fit, every "baddie" aesthetic we see today.

The exhibit will feature:

  • Archival magazines, covers, and spreads featuring the women who shifted culture.
  • A gallery wall of legendary imagery and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Recreated costumes and looks from the most unforgettable music videos.
  • Immersive video installations and storytelling.

Opening night will be a gathering of press, creators, and culture-shapers. In 2023, Opening Night was closed off to invites only. This year, we are opening it up to the public!

We can't wait to see you!
